Start with the FAFSA
The first step is completing The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is used to determine eligibility for federal aid programs, the Iowa Tuition Grant, a state aid program, many institutional scholarships, and other forms of financial assistance. Because some aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, students should complete the FAFSA as early as possible.
