Collaboration

ICF cultivates strategic partnerships and affiliations at both the state and national levels to strengthen independent higher education across Iowa.
These relationships support ICF’s mission by expanding educational opportunity, increasing scholarship access, sharing resources, and advancing student success at Iowa’s independent colleges and universities.
ICF’s partners are carefully selected to complement and extend our philanthropic work. Together, we form a connected network of organizations that provide scholarship opportunities, advocacy, professional development, and resources that benefit students and member institutions alike.
By working collaboratively, ICF and its partners create greater impact, helping more students access higher education and succeed in Iowa and beyond.

Council of Independent Colleges
The Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) is a national association supporting over 700 private colleges and state councils like ICF. As Iowa’s recognized State Council within CIC, ICF gains access to national scholarship programs, professional development, research, and a broader platform for independent higher education. This partnership brings additional funding and best practices directly to Iowa students and member colleges.

Iowa Association of Independent Colleges & Universities
The Iowa Association of Independent Colleges & Universities (IAICU) serves as the statewide policy and lobbying organization for Iowa’s independent nonprofit colleges and universities. IAICU works to advance private higher education through state-level initiatives, student access programs (such as the Iowa Tuition Grant), transfer agreements, and public awareness efforts.
